Unity Academy Gerji Branch Children Mark Colour Day
Nursery and KG children of Unity Academy – Gerji Branch observed Colour Day for the fifth consecutive time, on February 16, 2018, on the playground of the Academy.
Introducing the programme for the Day, Wz. Tenanyework Yohannes, in charge of the KG Section of the Academy, said that the event was marked for the fifth consecutive time since the establishment of the Academy in 2013. She further noted that the purpose of the event was to enable children to practically identify the various colours they encounter in their day-to-day life. She underlined that the children had been taught the same colours during their class lessons.
The programme for the Day involved various songs and activities related to identification of colours. To bring the activities and songs closer to their day-to-day life, the children were made to identify the colours of their lunch boxes, uniforms, hair, T-shirts and shoes; and spell the colours. Following is one inspiring song that the children sang to identify the colours in their surroundings:
Red Red Red everything is Red;
Because of an apple the one I like.
Yellow Yellow Yellow everything is Yellow;
Because of a banana the one I like.
Green Green Green everything is Green;
Because of the grass the one I like.
Orange Orange Orange everything is Orange;
Because of a carrot the one I like.
White White White everything is White;
Because of my tooth the one I like.
Purple Purple Purple everything is Purple;
Because of the grape the one I like.
Pink Pink Pink everything is Pink;
Because of my tongue the one I like.
Blue Blue Blue everything is Blue;
Because of the sky the one I like.
Colour Colour Colour everything is Colour;
Because of the rainbow the one I like.
