The University Standards, Curriculum and Quality Assurance (USCQA) office is headed by a Vice President whose major responsibility is to coordinate and direct all matters related to standards, Curriculum development and quality assurance in the University as well as to facilitate and coordinate the link between the Ministry of Education and the University. The Office (USCQA) is directly accountable to the President of Unity University (UU). 
 
USCQA consists of four units accountable to the VP of USCQA. These units are the offices of Benchmarking and Standards, Curriculum Services, Quality Assurance services and Testing Center services. The mission of each unit is briefly described below.

  1. The Benchmarking and Standard services office determines the learning outcomes, teaching learning strategies and assessment methods at program and subject (course) level with respect to subject knowledge, intellectual and transferable skills. In addition the office determines the levels of performance criteria that serve as indicator for judging outcomes achieved.
  2. The office of Curriculum services has as its main function to review new programs and courses for their proper structure, layout, presentation and inclusiveness with respect to MOE’s requirements. It has also the responsibility of reviewing and checking from time to time if academic programs are in line with the institution’s benchmarking. In addition, it determines the pedagogical and assessment aspects required in a given program.
  3. The office of Quality Assurance Services is responsible for monitoring the administrative and academic wing of the University with respect to the delivery of quality services to clients and stakeholders as well as for processing the accreditation of programs. It also serves as liaison between the Ministry of Education and the University on matters of accreditation and quality assurance in general.

The Testing Center is responsible for providing testing services for local and international agencies as well as for conducting research on University assessments and evaluations.
