The Girl's Scholarship Project

Unity University's Girls' Scholarship Project was launched in 2001 to address the gender imbalance in higher education for underprivileged young wowen in Ethiopia. The Girl's project, which is the first of its kind, has been launched and funded by generous contribution of Unity University College, USAID, SIDA, AJJDC, and other institutions who support interventions for gender equality. The project provides scholarship opportunities for young. Ethiopian women from low-income families who otherwise could not afford to pay for their higher education. The scholarship program includes full scholarship for tuition, boarding, and stipend during their course of education. The Girls' Scholarship Project currently supports 125 boarding degree program students.
