BSc in Mining Engineering – Structure of the Courses

Bachelor’s degree programs in Engineering typically are designed to last for five years. In a typical five-year curriculum, the first two years are spent studying mathematics, basic sciences, introductory engineering, humanities, and social sciences.

Mining Engineering students may also take introductory courses in Mining, Structural Geology, Economic Geology, Mineral Exploration, and Geology for Engineers during these years. A Mining Engineering program includes courses in Material Handling in Mines, Physical Mineralogy and Petrology, Surface Mining Methods and Equipment, Principles of Explosives Engineering, Mine Management, and Environmental Aspects of Mining.
