1. Admission Requirements
For the regular program, candidates who have completed preparatory of the secondary education cycle and obtained university-entry qualification can apply for Mining Engineering Program. TVET and Diploma holders with appropriate background can join, based on the criteria set by the Ministry of Education. Selection may be based on the students’ performance and interest and fulfillment of the general University admission requirements.
2. Duration of the Program
This study has a total duration of five years or 10 semesters. The 1st semester – common to all pre-engineering students – is devoted to orientation study, whereby the students will be motivated in order to have feelings of being an engineer through basic education and hands-on workshop exercises. Following the orientation semester, the student will go through six semesters of basic Mining Engineering studies.
At the end of the seventh semester, students take a comprehensive exam covering all basic study modules. The Internship is proposed to take place at the seventh semester, following a successful comprehensive exam. After successful completion of the Internship, the students will pursue two semesters of project studies.
3. Graduation Requirements
Graduate students will be awarded the “Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering”, if they take and pass all the required courses to satisfy the requirements for graduation. The total number of credit points required for graduation is 182 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System), including the six ECTS mandatory Internship (industry placement).
- A minimum credit hour of 180,
- A Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.00,
- A Minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.00 in core courses,
- No F, NG, I, in any course, and
- Compliance with the regulation of the University.
