Unity Graduates the First Batch of Master's Degree Holders

Unity University graduated 1077 students 36 of whom are the first batch of masters degree holders on September 8, 2009. The 26th batch of graduates received their masters (MBA, MA) and BA degrees as well as their diplomas from the hands of H.E Ato Girma Biru, Minister of Trade and Industry, who officiated the colorful ceremony at Gerji, Addis Ababa.

In his graduation address, the guest of honor, H.E. Ato Girma Biru, among other things, remarked about the University's continued success in becoming the first private college, the first University College and indeed the first private University in the country is an admirable achievement that must be recognized.

Unity University President and MIDROC Ethiopia CEO Dr. Arega Yirdaw on his part expressed his happiness about the success of achieving accreditation for the Business Administration (MBA) and Development Economics (MA) programes. 

He challenged the graduates to effectively discharge their responsibilities through translating the knowledge they have acquired at the university into actions for the benefit of themselves, their family as well their country.
 
He thanked all the family members, the academic staff and the University community for making it possible for the candidates to achieve their goal of getting the University credentials that they deserved.

In addition to the MBA and MA degree the UU provides BA degrees in accounting, economics, management, marketing management, architecture and urban planning, journalism and communication, management information system, software development and computer science. It also offers diplomas in most of the degree course.

The University also graduated 142 students from Nazareth special campus (Adama) on September 13, 2009 bringing the total number of this year’s Unity University graduates (Addis Ababa & Adama) to 2219.

To date the University has graduated over 22,000 young scholars most of whom are currently gainfully employed in government, non-government and private businesses.
